    Both are close to the same. If you are going to use in a bright room go with the 8000 to 1 contrast ratio. The sony is 2000 to 1. The 8000 to 1 seems high for a $699 price. I Have Samsung ,Sony and Westinghouse. LCD, CRT, DLP and SXRD’s. I have a 2000 to 1 in the bedroom, only use at night.

    I was going to say the Sony because my experience is that Sony has a stronger tunner(off air broadcast). Same antenna the sony picks up more stations. I don’t know if the sony tunner is stronger in your two models or not..

    Can you change the Lamp in each TV when it goes out? Buy the one you can. Some TV’s you can not!
    When picking a TV start from the back with connections you want and what you want to connect to your TV. Both seem the same one TV has one more connecton than the other.
