I would suggest checking another TV in the house or seeing if a neighbor will be kind enough to let you borrow one to see if you need to buy a new tv. This setting will allow you to select what channels your TV gets, whether it's Cable (CATV), or Over the Air (AIR). You should make sure that it is selected to CATV1.
